a little bit about waterskiing at Camel Ski SChool…

Waterskiing is a surface water sport where you are pulled behind a boat skimming the surface of the water on two skis or one ‘mono’ ski.

For beginners we use a bar on the side of the boat, this reduces the space between the instructor and skier and so improves communication. There is also little to no wake affecting the skier - meaning a smoother ride and faster progression.

We have a range of ski equipment for all standards of skier, for example if you are in the early stages of mono skiing we use a wider ski as the increased surface area makes balancing easier which speeds up the learning progress.

How long are sessions, and do I need to book in advance?

A normal waterski session will be 15 minutes per person, however if you are an absolute beginner we recommend a half an hour beginner session. If you are planning on booking a block of sessions, don’t forget to look at our bundle deals!

Who can do it?

We truly believe anyone can! We recommend starting your young ones at about 5 years old - our inflatable parrot trainer is perfect for building confidence before giving skis a go!

Can I make a group booking, or can my family come and watch?

We can take up to 5 people on our waterskiing boats. So that can be a mix of skiers and spectators, all skiers, or one skier and four spectators. The more the merrier!

Are there changing facilities?

Yes! We have both female and male changing rooms, each with a hot shower and toilet. You can leave your belongings in the changing rooms, but please be aware we don’t have any lockers. Any valuables can be kept behind the desk during your session.

What about equipment?

We have absolutely everything you will need to enjoy your time on the water with us, we have a huge range of thick C-Skins wetsuits, waterskis and bouyancy aids - all included in the price of your session. Just bring yourself and some swimmers!

What happens if I need to cancel, or the weather is bad?

We will only cancel sessions if the conditions are dangerous - rain won’t stop us! For our full cancellation policy click here.
