what is stand up paddle boarding?

A stand up paddleboard, commonly shortened to ‘SUP’, is a very buoyant board, typically between 10 and 12 foot. You can comfortably kneel or stand on these board and use a long paddle to manoeuvre the board. Our SUPs are all inflatable so they are easy to carry and lighter than a hard board. Our standard boards are 10.6 foot long.

We also have a ‘Monster SUP’ that is 15 foot long! The Monster can take up to 6 people, which makes it great fun for families and children.

what is kayaking?

A kayak is a narrow watercraft which seats either one or two paddlers. You will have a double ended paddle to help you manoeuvre the kayak from left to right. We have a selection of double and single kayaks so that you can paddle together or on your own.

We provide several options for both kayaking and paddle boarding, giving you the chance to improve your skills and meet new people…

Pay and Play

Paddle and Prosecco

During the summer months we run a fun, adult only class on Tuesday evenings. Meet new people, get fit, and indulge in a glass of prosecco afterwards! This class starts at 7pm and is one hour long, includes a glass of bubbly and allows you to enjoy the most tranquil time of day on the estuary!

How long are sessions, and do I need to book in advance?

Our standard paddle/kayak sessions are 1 hour long. We have classes available in the summer months that vary between 1 hour and 2 hours. Like all our activities you must book in advance to avoid disappointment. Paddle boarding and kayaking are the only activities that you must book over the phone or on email - they cannot be booked online!

Who can do it?

Due to insurance we can only take over 8’s on our paddle boards and kayaks. If you are over 8, this is an easy activity that can be done by absolutely anyone of any level!

Can I make a group booking, or can my family come and watch?

We have 6 single SUPs, 2 Monster SUPs, 3 double kayaks and 3 single kayaks. So we can take up to 18 people on paddle boards and up to 9 people on kayaks. Family and friends are welcome to watch from the shoreline, on the ‘pay and play’ sessions they will be able to see you almost all of the time.

Are there changing facilities?

Yes! We have both female and male changing rooms, each with a hot shower and toilet. You can leave your belongings in the changing rooms, but please be aware we don’t have any lockers. Any valuables can be kept behind the desk during your session.

What about equipment?

We have absolutely everything you will need to enjoy your time on the water with us, we have a huge range of thick C-Skins wetsuits, SUPs and kayaks, and bouyancy aids - all included in the price of your session. Just bring yourself and some swimmers!

What happens if I need to cancel, or the weather is bad?

We will only cancel sessions if the conditions are dangerous - rain won’t stop us! For our full cancellation policy click here.
